About LC

How I became a professional writer...

Growing up in the peaceful and often boring town of Wilmington, Mass., I satisfied my creative streak by keeping journals, writing poems and making fake magazines. My first brush with professional writing came as a pre-teen, when I published poems in a youth newspaper.

In college, I served as editor-in-chief of a new journal of literature and fine arts that won several national awards, proof that all those hours spent on fake magazines had finally paid off! Throughout college I also wrote marketing copy for the clients of a graphic design firm I'd helped to start.

Shortly after graduation I began freelancing for a local newspaper and joined the newspaper staff after a few months of freelance status. As a staffer I did a considerable amount of feature and entertainment work, even traveling to Hollywood for a weekend to cover a local "American Idol" contestant who had advanced to the reality show's final round.

After a year of working full-time at the paper I returned to freelancing so I could pursue a wider variety of writing work. Now I am writing for a number of outlets, toying with the idea of publishing a book of poetry and planning to continue work on my memoir, but I am always looking for more projects.

Honesty, integrity and hard work are important values to me and I incorporate them into all of my professional dealings. Hopefully by viewing my portfolio you'll also see that I am talented and passionate about what I do.

If you are looking for a freelance writer to work with on a one-time or continuing basis, I encourage you to contact me.
