Writing-related

• Press Releases and Bios for Musicians -- As a music journalist who receives stacks of press releases and artist bios on a daily basis, I know exactly what it takes to write an informative piece that piques the interest of a reporter or editor. I also have a borderline encyclopedic knowledge of music from a variety of genres and time periods. All this combined means that you, as a musician, end up with top-notch background and promotional materials that reflect the quality of your music. Important side note: In order to write about you as a musician, I have to really, really like your music. I've found that it's nearly impossible to effectively promote something you don't believe in yourself. • Articles -- I have experience writing various types of articles for print and online publications. These include in-depth feature pieces, entertainment reports, breaking news stories, personal and opinion columns, and CD and concert reviews. I have produced quality stories under tight deadlines (less than an hour) on several occasions and I work well under pressure.
  
  
• Editing -- You do the initial writing and I will edit it for grammar, spelling, organization, clarity and power.
  
  
• Proofreading -- I have extensive experience proofreading documents before they are released to the public. Exclamations like "I didn't even notice that!" and "Thank you so much for catching that mistake!" are common as I catch mistakes others don't. I encourage you to put me to the test.
  
  
• Copywriting -- I am well-versed in writing copy (words in an advertisement) for the web as well as print materials like brochures, postcards, introductory letters and fliers. Not only will your copy be clean, grammatically correct and typo-free, but it will communicate to your audience and inspire them to take action.

• Miscellaneous writing projects -- This might include resumes, sales letters and newsletters that put my clarity, persuasiveness and attention to detail to work for you.

• As a member of the press, I can offer you an insider's viewpoint and guide you through the process of getting publicity, from helping you put together a press release and press kit to advising you on who to contact, what to send them and when to follow up. I can act directly as your publicity rep or walk you through the steps as you do it yourself.
