Welcome!
I'm a Boston-based freelance writer with several years of experience writing for newspapers, magazines, online publications, corporate clients and musicians.
To get a flavor of my writing, read my review of Mobb Deep live in Providence. The piece is from four years ago, but it's still one of the best examples of my style.
I have conducted hundreds of interviews as a journalist, many with high-profile entertainers such as Stevie Nicks, Bill Cosby, Jay Leno, Janet Jackson, Nas, 50 Cent, T.I., Ice Cube, Alicia Keys, Wyclef Jean, Usher, Nelly Furtado, Jamie Foxx, Al Green and Patti LaBelle.
In June of 2009 I was a guest on WNYC's music talk show "Soundcheck" to discuss *hot* summer songs.
My essay about race and identity titled "Isn't Watermelon Delicious?" was recently published in the eighth edition of America Now, a writing textbook for college freshmen.
In addition to being a certified music junkie and chronicling some of this generation's most prominent artists and public figures, I have written about an array of less "glamorous" -- but no less significant -- subjects, from chess clubs, church drives and children battling cancer to small towns facing budget woes and young adults serving in the Peace Corps.
I have also provided writing and PR consulting services to a number of corporate clients and musicians.
Though I have begun to specialize in music and related fields, I pride myself on being able to write well on any topic. I consider every assignment important and give my full attention to every subject with the purpose of writing an informative, entertaining and accurate piece.
